What is LoRaWAN® ?
The LoRaWAN® protocol is a Low Power Wide Area Networking (LPWAN) communication protocol based on LoRa. LoRa is a wireless radio frequency technology that operates in a license-free radio frequency spectrum.
The big advantage of LoRa technology is its use of the ISM operating band: 868 MHz, 915 MHz and 923 MHz. These frequencies are much lower than the popular 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz, resulting in lower transmission losses and much better penetration through obstacles such as building walls or trees.

Small/Medium Sites
Small and Medium systems (typically less than 50 meters) can be perfect for wireless solutions. Wireless technology, provides the opportunity for a 'plug and play' approach, where clients can choose to install their own solution, pre-configured and ready to work.
It is always best to discuss what will be most suitable but a client can simply specify what and how many devices are required, the system can be pre-configured, documented and shipped to site. Once installed and power applied , the system devices will automatically register themselves and begin sending real time data to the cloud analytics software MW2.

Larger and complex sites (typically 50 meters and above) typically require a site survey to determine the best approach for your energy monitoring system. Re-using existing infrastructure, placement of communications equipment and understanding the site topography, ensure the solution is robust and cost effective
